I have to say I really feel sorry for the 73 or so “golfers” who were not able to clear their schedules and play golf at Belk Park on Thursday. The weather was great, the fairways were plush, the rough was mown, the greens ran true and all the tee boxes had a fine layer of zoysia from which to play. The course was in great shape!!!

I don’t often comment on the foursome I play in, however I do have to share with you a putting duo that continually amazed me all day Thursday. Mike Deveraux was our first putter for the day and he only made two putts for birdies, however he managed to singe the cup on others and only really missed on two holes. Pretty good right? Jim Hawkes putted second in our group and after Mike showed him the line, he made 8 out of 12 of our birdies !!! I putted third and managed to sink one and Ed delaPena also managed to sink one. Ed and I only got to putt a handful or times all day!!
