118 of us congregated at this course in the bend of the Meramec on what proved to be a toasty day uninterrupted by the ever-present wind on this mostly level layout. I don't think I personally have ever played this course when the wind hasn't been in my face on at least a majority of the long par 4's that we're faced with. So, this was a rare day (if ever come rare days in the month of June, or how ever the poem reads).

I don't know about you but I really enjoyed the write-up on the last outing done by none other than the guy who does just about everything related to this "organization" - the one and only Randy Pratt. When I got back from my sojourn to see my 99-year old father-in-law in S/W Minnesota I told Randy I'd gladly resume the additional duty of capturing the day's events in writing, but he just about tore my head off and pleaded to no end that he really, really enjoyed doing the write-up and if there was anything he took more pleasure in in life he would seriously doubt it. If you can imagine this, but maybe you shouldn't, he even got down on bended knee to plead with me over the chance to take over that task. We brain-wrestled about it for a while and I explained my case that somehow I have to earn my keep with this group and the write-up is just about the only way I know how, it certainly isn't my prowess on the courses. Anyway, in his infinite wisdom he caved to my logic so you're stuck with me for a while at least if you're really interested in what we accomplished for the day.

I do feel a bit sorry for Randy though and he'll probably be in a constant mope state for at least a month while I merrily pound away on this Logitech keyboard. Bear with me please and give Randy your condolences.

Aberdeen was in decent shape, the fairways have finally grown above the micron height and the greens, when accidently hit by our group, proved to actually be quite true and not too cratered by incoming white spheres. We do need to recognize the rough however. Forget about finding your balls (golf that is) embedded in the 5-6 inch grass. One of our group spotted a rather large snapping turtle off the tee box on #8 and tried to cajole the creature into cleaving a twig in two to illustrate to me the power of its jaw. The turtle, being a rather smart creature "rapidly" disappeared into the monumental rough growing off the side of the cart path. And disappear he did, in just a couple of seconds the rough was that thick.

Enough of the BS, here are the results. Oh yeah, the playoff hole was #10, the only uphill hole on the course

Results :
