"Rain"
Suddenly after four straight Thursday's with great weather we were brought back to reality and had to endure a day of cold steady light soaking rain from the time we started until many in our group said I give up and headed for the clubhouse. Our pairings list of 107 players, sent to the course for the event, diminished through morning cancellations and our final tally had a field of 86 left. The cancellations nearly destroyed the original pairings list so we resorted to golf cart musical chairs and allowed groups to reconfigure, on their own, and we were off about 8 AM. After about 2 1/2 hours the road to the clubhouse was paved with wet golfers seeking cover. All golfers were offered a rain check for a 1/2 round of golf. Raffle tickets were sold and prizes were distributed. Because of the rainout the pot money will be rolled back into the amount we keep to subsidize the final outing of the year.
