At final count, 107 of us found Wolf Hollow golf course. It wasn't much problem for at least a dozen of us who played it the day before in the bi-weekly senior scramble that has been touted by many of us as a good place to be on alternate Wednesdays. It's a great deal for less than $30 where you can get a small bite to eat and a cup of coffee in the morning and a burger/brat and some fixin's at noon and possibly win some money on top of it. This course does a great job of marketing itself and I'll often get adverts in the mail to jump on board a 2-man scramble to attempt to win a lot of money. Unfortunately, the entry fees are astronomical for us peasants and knowing how good some of these guys are, I'm sure my astronomical fee would be in someone's bank account before morning. I'll pass on those expensive outings and concentrate on our affairs and those bi-weekly cheaper stints at this challenging course.

And it is a challenging course. The greens are devilish and many of the holes demand an accurate tee shot and second shot to somewhere on these greens that could never hold water. But it's fun to play and certainly gives you some great views of whatever county it's in. Is it Franklin county?

The course is in great shape, kept that way by the seemingly ever-present corps of guys mowing and doing some kind of landscaping work. Their presence can be annoying at times but perhaps they're just out there to learn something about the sport as they keenly follow our precise shots that are often accompanied by some descriptive language. All their efforts have kept this heavily played course in very good shape. And for the price it's very difficult to beat.

For some reason we seemed to play this course a bit faster than others. Not sure of the reason but it appeared that way. I'm sure some folks would vehemently disagree with that statement, but for our foursome the round took just over 4 hours and we did have some wait time in there also.
