127 of us gathered at Jack Nicklaus' creation on the east side and shot ourselves either in the foot or a wonderful game of golf. I can attest to the former but that's a whole different story. This is about you guys and how much fun, or frustration, you had on a truly wonderful July day that was without the usual miserable humidity and stifling heat. Wouldn't it be great to have many more days like this when we can swing the clubs without wringing out our shirts in the process. The weather just never got in the way today and that was truly fortunate for us.

As usual this course was in great shape, although the fairways were cut a bit close to my liking and some of the greens were a bit pockmarked and a bit scuffed in spots. Still, everything was in good shape and it was just great fun to be out there.

One unavoidable thing occurred today and that was the pace of play which at times was a bit tedious especially when we found 4+ teams on the same hole causing some frustrations in the necessity to wait. But all in all, we finished in just over 5 hours which is pretty normal for this group. Unfortunately, all it takes is for one team to have trouble negotiating a hole and it slows up everyone behind. It's the nature of the game and the folks who play it and no amount of coaxing is going to accelerate matters. I'm sure everyone is playing as efficiently as they can.
