I think the most remarkable thing about yesterday's round at The Falls was all the jackets being worn at check-in. Hard to believe we played in St. Louis in the middle of August and had to wear jackets for the first 4 or 5 holes. The course was in fairly good shape for this time of year and the weather lately had to be a big contributor to the conditions we found. Fairways may have been a bit short, but overall the course proved to be very playable. Even the hoards of rabbits thought so since they were out in droves on about every hole. Must be something in the fertilizer they use that keeps that population soaring.

Results:

Flight "A"

First place and showing the rest of us what playing good golf is all about was the team of Don Giarraffa, Ron Muse, Dennis Terhaar, and Pete San Souci shooting a net 58, yes, that was a 13 under par.

Three shots short of our group's record of 16 under scored last week. Second place was achieved with a 63 (only 8 under) and a scorecard playoff win with hole 7 being the playoff hole. Doug Torrie, Dave Gillett, Bert Schott, and Ed de la Pena were "talented" enough to beat out 4 other 63's for second place.

In Third place was the team of Tom Wulf, Joe Cernich, Bob Pahmeier and Frank Vien.

The remaining 63's were shot by the John O'toole, Dee Ridenhour, and Ed Boyer teams.
